As a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) based in Toronto, I offer counselling for individuals and couples from all walks of life. My approach is influenced by several therapeutic orientations, including CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Existential Therapy, allowing me to provide a personalized and effective treatment for each client.
A little about me: I was born in Denmark, spent my formative years in Alberta, and now live in Toronto. I love them all. My partner and I have two Whippets, an Italian Greyhound, a white cat and a calico cat. Needless to say that the soft centre of my heart beats for animals. Also, I love country music, opera, running, reading, and Indian food - but not all at the same time.
About you: Your story is unique and important, and I am here to help you navigate through it. I am dedicated to creating a safe, brave, and supportive space for your healing journey. Your well-being is my priority, and together, we can work towards a healthier and happier you.

My favourite teacher used to say “once you know a person’s story, everything they do makes sense.” I have learned that in my life and in the Master of Art in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.
Now, I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). This means I am a registrant of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am legally allowed to provide the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario and in unregulated provinces (this excludes Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) while receiving clinical supervision.
I am lucky enough to be supervised by Justin La Rose, MCP at his practice, La Rose Counselling Services. Previously, I worked in media for a decade and earned by Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.
My counselling approach combines psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, humanistic, solution-focused modalities viewed through a biopyschosocial lens. So what does all that mean? I will be asking about your sleep, your nutrition, how your life is peopled as well as life experiences you are comfortable sharing. This allows me to holistically craft a treatment plan tailored to you as a whole person, not a diagnosis. I am especially passionate about supporting parents, couples and people navigating a big change but see people from across the lifespan and from all walks of life. I am currently in the certificate program at Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Training and integrate my Gottman Institute Level 1 training for my work with couples.
I am always reading a new book, usually without finishing the last, and usually about human psychology, social science, parenting or permaculture. I live with my husband, our two little ones and our lab in a 175-year-old cottage.
My first priority is to make you feel safe- no matter your background, religion, skin colour and who (and how) you love. Everyone is welcome and wholly accepted.

I work with couples who are struggling with conflicts in their relationship. Maybe you and your partner are stuck in a cycle of not seeing eye to eye on issues that is damaging your relationship. Perhaps you are struggling getting your needs met and feel unheard. Maybe when you try to express your needs it leads to hostile and avoidant behaviours. If you feel really stuck in your relationship, I hear you. You are really trying to make things work but you are not sure where to start.
I focus on helping clients improve their communication patterns and help both sides understand the underlying needs each partner has. I believe it is important to discuss our needs in a safe environment to help address the conflicts that are harming your relationship. Relationships are tough and I do not believe that your conflicts should define them.
